NBSC CONDUCTS 1ST RISK AND OPPORTUNITY MONITORING TO STRENGTHEN QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully conducted its 1st Risk and Opportunity Monitoring on March 16, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensure that all identified risks and opportunities across offices are properly managed and aligned with the College’s established quality objectives.
The monitoring activity was led by Ms. Elaine Marie J. Ombina, Chairperson of the Risk and Opportunity Management Committee, together with committee members Ms. Karyl Ann A. Ellovido, Mr. Paul John A. Labastida, and Ms. Caroline Laarni R. Sereñas, MPS. The team worked closely with different offices and process owners to review the status of their risk and opportunity action plans.
The activity aimed to check whether the mitigations and controls identified by the offices are effective, especially when risks occurred. The committee reviewed whether the actions taken were able to reduce the impact of the risks and what additional steps were taken. At the same time, the committee also looked into the identified opportunities to see if the action plans are helping the offices achieve or maximize them. If the opportunities have not yet occurred, the offices shared the initial steps they have taken to work toward achieving them.
The committee emphasized that regular monitoring helps ensure that action plans remain relevant and that improvements are properly documented. It also supports the College’s commitment to quality management and institutional effectiveness.
NBSC will continue to conduct regular monitoring and provide guidance to offices to ensure that risks are addressed properly and opportunities for improvement are maximized for the benefit of the entire academic community.
